Property of L. M. Klauber 2569 Front St San Diego
May 9, 1923 Collected 2 Diadophis amabilis similis on the road at Ballena Grade west of Witch Creek, driving with Van Denburgh and Slevin. One of my earliest hunting trips. This was before I kept complete records.
May 13, 1923 With Van Denburgh and Slevin on Mountain Springs Grade. This was the day they discovered the method of collecting Xantusia henshawi and Phyllodactylus tuberculosis by using a pinch-bar to pry rock flakes off of granite boulders.
Also saw at this point 1 Xantusia henshawi but could not catch. Got one newt but he dried up.
